I can't wait to get out of this place. I wanna leave, but I'm not sure that I really want to go home either. It'll be nice i guess. especially when the high schools start again and i'll have the house to myself.

Holdover

Quickies:

Party was awesome. So much I want to get down, but it's all going in my journal first, then this one gets pieces. Basically though, it was amazing. I had a great time. I was so happy to see everyone before break, and can't wait to do it again. If only I had my own place, I could do it whenever I wanted. But I don't, so I have to wait for other people to have gatherings/let me throw something.

My hair is now about 4 inches shorter, and I love it. But no one notices because the bigger change is that I've dyed it. It's like a black cherry color, or at least that's what I'm calling it. It's really dark, almost black, but when the light hits it, it's a red/burgundy color. Awesome.

Saw Pat/Jeff/Mikey's band play at JJ's on Wednesday. Apparently they are called Minx. Good to know. I can stop identifying them by naming all the members. Good to see everyone there as well. Talked up the party. A bit of a weird night, but overall pretty good. Heard some weird stuff. Said some weird stuff. Did some weird stuff. Whatever. No use worrying about it now, no matter how I wish it went.

4th Annual Gingerbread party last Sunday. Good times. Pictures are up on my yahoo photo page for anyone interested.
Acapella concerts = AMAZING. Truly talented people that are having so much fun, and it shows. Those shows are so much fun to go to.
Cabaret - Brig (Intense and so good), Directors scenes (Great scenes this year), Caf Crav auditions (Bust),
CAP - Lysistrata - good job guys.
Working on fixing the knee

It's a crazy time, for everyone. I myself am off to write one last paper. My finals start Tuesday, and go to Friday. I may have to hurt myself. Someone keep an eye on me. Or whatever you feel like using. ;-)
Good Luck everyone!

Later.

Caffeinal Cravings Auditions

hehehe...you are all going to get so sick of hearing about this....

Auditions are coming next week for the world premiere of Frank D'Agostino's new musical: Caffeinal Cravings!!

The auditions will be held on Thursday Dec. 8 & Friday Dec. 9 (Note: This is different from Cabaret's usual audition schedule of Tues. & Wed. so that it is easier for you to attend).

As usual, no Rutgers affiliation is required. The only limit is that you must be at least 18 years old.

There are parts available for singers and non-singers and everyone is welcome to audition.

And don't worry, there will be no rehearsals during Winter Break! Anyone offered a part in the show will be given the script & music before break and asked to review it before returning, but there are no official rehearsal times until class resumes.

We're also looking for techies, pit musicians, rehearsal musicians, and all around help for this production. Also, the Cabaret Theatre is looking for a Marketing Director for the Spring Semester.

Written by Frank D'Agostino

Produced by Mel Sullivan of Cabaret Theatre
Directed by Nick Thomas
Musically Directed by ???(to be announced soon)
And featuring all of your favorite Production Staffers
(The show is being Tech Directed/Stage Managed by yours truly, so there's even more incentive for all of you to get involved!)

The last 3 weeks

I can't believe it's already the middle of November! This semester has gone so fast. It feels like I just moved in, and we just had auditions for Cabaret's first show of the season. And now we've finished all our mainstages for the semester and are about to put up the special project and director's scenes. Thanksgiving Break is this week, and after that, there's only like two weeks until finals start. And then we're into our last semester as undergrads. Which is really freaking me out.

Anyway, the last few weeks have been crazy. Besides still recovering from/being sick, there was class of course, and then the fun stuff :-) Let's see. Ah yes. It'll start with my all nighter at Cabaret finishing the Anne Frank set. We literally left the theater at 7am. I went home and was gonna just stay up cause I had class at 10. I remember sitting down at my computer when I got back, then the next thing I knew it was noon and I was in bed. Totally missed class, and didn't really care either. Made it to the second one though. Good times. Then that Thursday was the tech run of Midnightmares for SGP at Spotswood High School. Friday, Ashley & I borrowed Mel's car (woohoo) and went to Midnightmares. The first few minutes were fun as I tried to figure out Mel's car, but it was smooth sailing after that. We discovered Mel's wonderful mix CD and sang all the way there and back. Afterwards was the "Mel's Finally Single" Party (aka the Mel-ebration). We all had so much fun, it was great. Midnightmares performances again Saturday & Sunday, and then Sunday night we booked our Spring Break. Ash, Car & I are now booked for a week at the Lucayan Resort in Ocean City, Maryland. I'm excited. The next week, on Wednesday I met up with a bunch of the Wild Party-ers at JJ's to see one of Pat & Jeff's bands play. Car went with me but left pretty soon. I was so glad she came though, and she seemed to have a good time, so that was good. I had so much fun, it was brilliant. Everyone was there, well almost, and it was just great. The next day after class I left for Atlantic City and the NJEA Convention. I love teachers convention. I always have fun, and of course Atlantic City is great too. We came home late Friday night after spending the day at the convention and the evening at the casino. Saturday the whole family spent out. We went shopping. I got a new phone. I think my father finally just got tired of listening to me complain about my old one. Then my parents decided they wanted to see Chicken Little, so we went to see that at the movie theater. I got back on Sunday in time to unpack then head to Cabaret for the staff meeting.
So that brings me up to this past week, and if anyone is still reading, I'm amazed. Wednesday Ash and I went to Harvest Moon to see WUPA play (another 2 High band). At first they wouldn't let her in because she didn't have her license, so we were like, well, we'll stand out in the hall and at least listen to one or two songs before we go. But then we riffled through her wallet and found her age card from Australia and decided to try that. It totally worked. All they had needed was something with her birthdate on it. So then we found a table in the corner by the band and stayed there for a while. We were the first ones there we knew, but then everyone started showing up. Steve, Aubrey, Brian, Candice..., all wonderful to see, plus the millions of people in the band, Wil, Uton, Pat, Jeff, Rabbi.... Anyway, it was so much fun. So this is now one of my new favorite things to do. I mean, I've always enjoyed seeing friends perform, but these guys are just amazing, and oh, I love it! What else can I say? Thursday night a group of us went to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter - Ash, Mel, Rachel, Steinhart... and then as soon as we walked into the theater we saw all these people we knew. Parag, Steve, Melissa, Chris, were all there, and I saw Anne, one of the Rutgers students that I was in England with last semester. We had a great little chat before the movie started, and it made me miss all my Study Abroad Mates even more than I already did. And it was kind of funny cause the next day I saw Evan, who was at Sussex last year too. Friday night was the Cabaret Open Mic night, which was cool to go to. I had never been to one before. They were great to listen to and were all really good. Mel, Emma, Ash & I went to the diner afterwards. Good times.
Yesterday was Girls Day. Ashley and I went to New York City. Early. We got in at about 10:30, went straight to the TKTS Booth in Times Square and waited for an hour for tickets to Rent. We ended up with amazing seats. Sixth row orchestra! They were technically partial view, but there was very little that you couldn't see. A little expensive, but completely worth it in my opinion. We wandered NYC for a little before the show, had an amazing time at the show, and just an overall kick ass day. Afterwards, we headed back to meet up with Carolyn to go to Menlo Park Mall. Ash & I got some nice new clothes at New York & Company, on their sale racks of course. Their clothes are way too expensive otherwise.
So now it's Sunday. I slept in cause I was knackered from yesterday's excitement, then Ashley and I went to see Hillel's Joseph at Cabaret. Now I'm home. Procrastinating. Because I have two midterms this week, which totally sucks. Oh well. I suppose it's better to get them over with before the break rather than having them hanging over you the entire time.
So I guess I should get to work now. Besides tomorrow's midterm I have a load of other homework. ::sigh::

Goodnight.

Homecoming & Halloween

Yesterday was awesome. First was the homecoming game against Navy. We rocked it. And it was such a great game. My father came and we had a great time. Glee Club sang at the pregame, and there were tons of people. Definitely one of the best games to go to ever.
Afterwards was the Halloween party at Carrie Livingston's. That was so much fun!! They know how to throw a party. There was food and drink, the music was amazing, and of course the people were perfect. Met some cool new people, but mostly stuck with the group, and had a blast. Good times.

Now it's sunday though, and that means Monday is next, and I hate mondays.
Tonight is a staff meeting at Cabaret, so off i go.
later.

Acapella

Amazing Acapella concert tonight! Good times were had. Most Definitely.
Dinner was awesome. It was me & Ash, Holly, Kathy, James, Maddie, Elyse. So much fun! Then we met Aubrey & Chris at Cooper on our way out and all headed to the DCC. It was nice to see so many of the WP people outside a theater, and just hanging out. Because it didn't feel so much like we were the WP reuniting as much as a group of friends going to support some more friends at their concert. Truly awesome. Carolyn & Joe went, Uton and Chambers were there, a few others we recognized. Wil, Juicy, Nikki, Candice, Lauren all performed (WP-ers), as did Mich & Dave (from Matawan). I'm still smiling....
After, Ash & I cought up with Viki, Ben, & Andrew on College Ave, and had a fun time singing and making fun of the people in costumes for the frat parties.

Anyway, it rocked. Now though my sickness is catching up with me and demanding that I go to bed. So goodnight..

Over

It's over....I can't believe that I won't be seeing these people every day anymore. These have been some of the greatest times of my life, and I will love each and every member of this show forever.
I refuse to accept losing touch.

morning

so it's morning now. and it only feels a little better. too bad I can't just stay in bed.
at least now I'll be able to think a little straighter and figure out what I can do to fix it.
::sigh::

grrr..

definitely starting to feel the pressure.
why is it that no matter how hard we try there's always drama? is it because we try so hard to avoid it that we end up causing it? Maybe it's me. Maybe I just exude drama vibes.
Or maybe it's all in my head and everything will be pretty again in the morning.
God, I hope so.

Mathematicians

Carolyn sent me this today. hehehe....

How mathematicians do it...

Combinatorists do it as many ways as they can.

Combinatorists do it discretely.

Algebraists do it in groups.

Algebraists do it in a field.

Analysts do it continuously.

Topologists do it openly.

Topologists do it on rubber sheets.

Mathematicians do it forever if they can do one and can do one more.

Restless

Feeling a bit restless right now. It was another good day today. Slept in, kind of had lunch with Ash, went on errands with Jarrett, ran around Cabaret, dinner with Ashley, ran around Cabaret some more, Applebee's with Jarrett. Just got back from that. It's amusing that we can't go very long without Applebee's appetizers. We were supposed to go to the Playhouse 22 yard sale tomorrow, but it looks like we won't be able to make it over there. One of the times when it sucks not having a car on campus. I think it would be fun to see what they're actually selling. Maybe Mel will take us. Probably not. Oh well. Intermezzo was fun. It was me and Ash, then Leah joined us. At another table were Sarah, Emma, Elyse, etc. They all came over at various points to say hi. That was nice of them. Even with the whole 'hey kate has makeup on and is a girl' stuff. ::sigh:: That's what I get for not caring most of the time. Anyway, I'm calming down now and getting tired.
Goodnight.

So Far and Soooo Good

I can't believe that it's been like three weeks since class started. It feels like summer just ended. And the heat hasn't gone away yet, so it still feels like summer outside.
So much has happened already, and I haven't written any of it down. How disappointing. Classes are going well. So far anyway. But the biggest excitement in my life right now is coming from Cabaret and Wild Party. It is turning out to be an absolutely amazing show. Its soooo much fun. I'm there almost every night, but I really don't care. I LOVE it!!! Everyone in the show is amazing. The cast is so talented. And so much fun to watch. It's really turning out to be an amazing experience for me. Of course, as with any production, there are some "rough patches" but they are far outweighed by the good stuff happening. I'd love to keep going about all the, ahem, events that have unfolded, but my parents read this, so they'll just have to go into the private journal. And Ashley and I are having a blast for the most part. We're spending so much time together we're practically married. In fact, we are married on facebook. Its great.
And tonight was great. Even if we didn't get to see the monks. Ash, Car, Joe & I got dinner together, then Ashley & I headed to Cabaret. We stopped at RiteAid so I could buy gold stars to hand out to the people in Wild Party that help out and do good things. Of course, I'm sure that by the time the show comes, everyone will have gotten several, but that doesn't make it any less fun for me really. And that's really what matters in the end ;-) After rehearsal got out at 11:30 we went to the 12:01 showing of the Corpse Bride. It was really cute and it was fun to go out with everyone.
Tomorrow is another Cabaret filled day. Yay. First it's off to Home Depot to try to negotiate with them for a discount, then back to the theater to do some building. Should be a good time.

As of right now, life is soooo good.
later :-D

wow

wow. this is very easy, and very exciting, and i think i love it. i can use my journal on my computer to post straight to blogger and not have to go to the site and wait for it to load blah blah blah...i may have to seriously consider making the move now. it would definitely be a better "clean slate" than my five empty posts to move the old stuff off the page on the other journal...hm...we shall see what will happen...

hello

um, yeah, so i'm thinking about moving over here cause i can post to it straight from macjournal and that would be cool, so i'm gonna try it out for a few days and see how it goes...
